This policy explains how Steam Mop List creates its content, the standards we hold ourselves to, and how we stay independent. It applies to every page we publish.
Our Standard: Safety and Accuracy First
We cover a subject where bad advice has real consequences — a ruined floor, a voided warranty, or wasted money. Because of that, our first obligation is to be accurate and to be honest about risk. We would rather tell you not to do something than encourage a method that could damage your home.
Where the responsible answer is “it depends,” we explain what it depends on instead of pretending there’s a one-size-fits-all answer.
How We Use AI
Our content is drafted with the assistance of artificial intelligence and reviewed under human editorial direction. AI helps us cover a focused subject thoroughly and keep guidance current. It is a tool, not an authority.
Every editorial standard in this document applies regardless of how a page was produced. Automated drafting does not lower our bar for accuracy, sourcing, or safety — if anything, it raises the scrutiny we apply before publishing.
Sourcing and Claims
- We ground guidance in manufacturer instructions and reputable, verifiable sources, and we treat manufacturer guidance for your specific floor or device as the final word.
- We do not fabricate facts, statistics, people, quotes, test results, or “expert” personas. If we haven’t verified something, we don’t claim it.
- We avoid unsupported absolute claims — for example, sweeping “kills 99.9% of germs” or “completely safe for hardwood” statements — unless they are backed by a credible source, and we explain the conditions involved.
- When evidence is mixed or uncertain, we say so rather than picking the more clickable side.
Independence
Our editorial judgment is our own. We do not let commercial relationships, partnerships, PR outreach, or affiliate programs decide what we recommend or how we rate a method or product. No one can pay to be praised, to be featured, or to have criticism removed. Our monetization, where it exists, is disclosed separately in our Affiliate Disclosure and is kept strictly apart from editorial decisions.
Corrections and Updates
- We welcome corrections. If you find an error, write to corrections@steammoplist.com and we will review it. Safety-related issues are prioritized.
- We update guides as floors, finishes, machines, and best practices change. Older advice that no longer holds up is revised or removed.
- When we cut a figure or claim we can no longer verify, we do not quietly reintroduce it later.
Reader Privacy
We operate primarily from the EU and respect reader privacy accordingly. Data and privacy requests are handled at privacy@steammoplist.com.
